Tonka is my first Champion out of River and Meriha. He is a beautiful boy with all the qualities a breeder could want. With his tiny forward set ears, small dark eyes, substance and balance, his appearance exemplifies the breed.  I can't talk about Tonka without mentioning his beautiful sidegait.  This boy can move!

Tonka was awarded a Best In Sweepstakes win at the Golden Gate Akita Club Specialty in 2000. He finished his Championship with 4 and 5 point major wins from the Bred By Exhibitor class. He is a multiple Best Of Breed winner, and with the help of his friend, Don, he earned his International Championship title and his CGC (Canine Good Citizen) title. Tonka and his sister, Secret, have shared the spotlight many times with one taking Best Of Winners and the other Best Opposite Sex. They also have several Reserve Best In Show Brace wins from the International shows. 

Tonka is retired now and spends his time with Don Schwartz going hunting, fishing, back country skiing and hiking. Tonka has a unique quality for an Akita in that he gets along well with other dogs.  He is my friend and a loving companion.
